My first (and last?) quilt in progress

Hats off to the folks who do lots of quilting. After a few long nights I’m already regretting setting myself this challenge for 2015.

Turns out quilting needs precision, patience and prosecco – or any old booze really. I’m not overly precise. Have bugger all patience  (ask my boss) and due to being an idiot gave up booze for lent so its been a bit of a long haul until now.

Anyway this is a quilt for my small girl. I do really like the colours and she has already expressed her pleasure at the presence of her favourite animal on it – sheep. God knows if she’ll still appreciate sheep when she’s 18 but its intended as an heirloom.

My finishing touch is to add our handprints to some of the plain squares with fabric paint.

Next step is obviously to start sewing and hope I don’t bugger it up.
