By day I work as a consultant in international development. I work on aid funded programmes in developing countries focusing primarily on how the environment and climate change affect the lives of the world’s poor. Its a fabulous job with a great team of people but talking all day about poverty can take its toll. Thankfully my home life is pretty fantastic too which provides wonderful balance to my life.
I took up sewing in 2012 thanks to a generous John Lewis gift voucher from my parents for Christmas. I’d been watching my Mother-in-Law sewing various projects over the years (including seat covers for our LDV campervan Bertha!) and she seemed to get such joy and contentment from these projects that I fancied a shot myself.
Two and a half years later and I’m flipping obsessed with sewing my own clothes. This blog is to give me somewhere to post about my projects, to act as a diary for the ups and downs of them, and maybe, just maybe, inspire others to take up sewing.
